A video scoreboard is a full LED screen that can show anything, scoring included, plus replays and sponsor content. Fixed digits will work for most clubs; however, video suits venues chasing atmosphere and sponsorship revenue.
Can one scoreboard work for multiple sports?
Yes, multi-sport models are the most popular boards in the range for schools and community stadiums. One board and controller switches between basketball, netball, futsal, volleyball and more. List every sport your venue hosts when you enquire so the board is spec’d for all of them from day one.
How big do the digits need to be?
It depends on your furthest viewer. As a working rule, bigger venues and outdoor grounds need larger digits; ESA’s basketball boards, for example, use 130mm digits for period indicators with larger score digits. Do ESA scoreboards come with a controller?
Yes, every scoreboard ships with its control system, and wireless controllers are available so scorers can run the game from the bench or the clubrooms. Controllers are designed for volunteers, not technicians: your scorers will be comfortable after one training session, which we provide.
